You’ve probably been told you’re “too sensitive.” Or maybe you just feel it—like your body’s been on high alert ever since something big happened. A diagnosis. A loss. A spiritual shift. Suddenly, everything feels louder. Sharper. Too much. But what if that sensitivity… isn’t a problem? What if it’s not dysregulation—but integration? In this post, I’m sharing a deeply personal theory: That after life-altering events, your body may not be malfunctioning at all.It might actually be waking up—giving you access to a deeper level of clarity, healing, and sacred knowing.

There was a stretch of time after I had long COVID and a neck injury—where I felt like my body was… overcommunicating.

Every flicker of sensation. Every tight muscle.Every weird energy dip. It all felt amplified. Like my system was on high alert. And honestly? I didn’t think that was a good thing. I kept waiting for it to settle down. Waiting for my body to feel “normal” again. Not the old version of normal—I knew I’d changed. But I was still expecting things to quiet. Instead… it all got louder. And for a while, I took that as a problem. A side effect. A glitch. Something to ride out until I got “back to baseline.” But something in me started to shift when my brother died. It was like a veil lifted—and I started seeing clearly. Not just into the spiritual realm…but into myself. Into us. The way we were made. The design beneath the noise.
And I had this moment, like a full-body knowing:

What if this isn’t a malfunction? What if this is a sacred return?
A Different Perspective on Sensitivity

So here’s my hypothesis—and I want you to hear it through the lens of lived experience, not theory: What if, after a major life event—grief, illness, injury, even something beautiful like a wedding or new baby—your body doesn’t just go into protection mode……it also gives you more access to your original design? More access to the data you were created to sense.More access to the divine whisper inside you. More access to the information that helps you heal. Not because something’s wrong. But because something’s waking up. What if that moment when everything got louder—was actually when you started hearing things clearly for the first time?

If You’ve Been Feeling Like Too Much…

Here’s the part I really want to name: If you’ve been waiting to stop being so sensitive…If you’ve been praying to go back to how it was before…You might be missing the sacred invitation in front of you. Because this heightened awareness? It’s not always dysregulation. It might actually be integration. Let me say that again—What you’re calling “too sensitive”…Might be your body finally having the capacity to speak.

A Sacred Invitation

What if your system is more responsive now—
More able to detect what’s happening
More able to signal what it needs
More able to partner with your healing
More able to recognize the divine
But because we weren’t taught how to listen,it just feels overwhelming.
Because no one gave us the tools, we think we’re broken.
Because the world rewards us for shutting down.
We think we’re failing for noticing too much.
But I don’t think you’re failing.
I think you’re tuning in.
And yes, it might feel louder.
It might feel messier.
It might even feel like too much.
But you are not too much.
You’re accessing what’s always been there—
what’s been waiting to be heard.
And I think that’s sacred.

A Final Word

So if this is you…If you’re post-loss, post-diagnosis, post-some-life-altering shift…and you’re still waiting to feel less sensitive…I want to offer this possibility:
What if this is your upgrade? What if you’ve landed in a place with more capacity, not less? What if you were never meant to go back—because where you are now is finally letting you feel what needs to be felt? This doesn’t mean there won’t be discomfort. It doesn’t mean your symptoms aren’t real. It means you now have access to the very system that can help you find your way through. And the more you learn to listen—The more you’ll begin to know what to do with it.
Because when you stop fearing your sensitivity—You start recognizing it as the sacred assignment it’s always been.
